Winter Lecture Series: Our Changing Climate and Your Garden

Have you noticed plants blooming at strange times in your garden or an increase in major weather events? This winter UDBG will host a series of virtual pretensions on the changing climate we are experiencing and what that means for us as gardeners. Topics will include weather patterns in the Delaware region, how soil health affects the climate,  and resilient plant selections for our gardens. Hope you can join us from the comfort of your home, and if you sign up for the whole series (three lectures) we have a discounted registration fee!

Lecture 3: As our world continues to grapple with the effects of climate change, it is becoming increasingly crucial to adapt our gardening practices to the changing environment. Join us for an enlightening talk on “Sustainable Gardening” where we will explore the art of selecting the right plants for an adaptable and resilient garden of the future.

In this engaging presentation, Vincent Simeone will take you on a journey through the challenges and opportunities presented by climate change. We will delve into the importance of plant selection as a means to not only mitigate the impact of a warming world but also to create beautiful and thriving green spaces. In addition to the ornamental qualities and function of these plants, emphasis will be put on utilizing pollinator/bird friendly and deer resistant plants. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this talk will provide you with valuable insights and practical tips for your own garden.
