GROWING CONCERN: CLIMATE CHANGE IN DELAWARE Winter Lecture Series: Our Changing Climate and Your Garden

Have you noticed plants blooming at strange times in your garden or an increase in major weather events? This winter UDBG will host a series of virtual presentations on the changing climate we are experiencing and what that means for us as gardeners. Topics will include weather patterns in the Delaware region, how soil health affects the climate,  and resilient plant selections for our gardens. Hope you can join us from the comfort of your home, and if you sign up for the whole series (three lectures) we have a discounted registration fee!

Lecture 1: “Growing Concern: Climate Change in Delaware” is an informative and eye-opening talk that addresses the pressing issues of climate change within the context of the state of Delaware. With its unique coastal location and diverse ecosystems, Delaware faces a variety of climate-related impacts, from sea-level rise and extreme weather events to shifts in temperature and precipitation patterns. This talk will provide a comprehensive overview of these challenges and their potential consequences for the people, wildlife, and natural landscapes of our region. Join Climatologist, Dan Leathers, for an engaging exploration of how climate change is affecting the First State and what we can do to address these challenges.
